How have you liked Strange New Worlds so far, Drew?
It's not perfect, but I've found it miles better than STD and STP, and more in line with the Star Trek ethos than either of those two shows, which I think are misfires on that front. It's not just because it's an exploration show on a starship (my favorite Trek is DS9, after all), but it's because unlike the two previous shows produced under Kurtzman's banner, SNW seems to try hard to hew closely to Roddenberry's original vision. That is: Showing not telling (for the most part), and using a mirror not a hammer regarding social issues. It hasn't always succeeded in that regard, but far more than STD and STP in my estimation.
Hah! Mount's hair is definitely it's own draw, but he's also been very good as Pike. It's amazing to me that we've now had three good actors take on this role (four if you count the gentleman under the makeup from The Menagerie episode in TOS), and they've all brought something different to the table and yet, because there was so little to go on (unlike with Kirk) they are all still Christopher Pike.
Of the rest of the cast, I think I've enjoyed Dr. M'Benga's story the most so far. Then again, a kid in jeopardy is always an easy storyline to help you immediately empathize with a parent.
I'm always amazed at the amount of media you ingest, Drew. How is that even possible? You need to eat, sleep, work just like the rest of us mere mortals, right? To satisfy my curiosity, could you maybe give a rundown of a typical day/couple of days of your schedule, including all the media you consume? It seems like a superhuman amount to me!

Digging it! It's TREK at its core, and I'm enjoying the cast enormously. Anson Mount's hair alone is worth tuning in every week.
