Not sure this is the best place to put this comment but *shrug.* So you wrote this like 2 years ago and I discovered you through the 80s All Over podcast, which you did even longer ago (almost finished with it and sad to get to the last episode) but I really loved hearing the ways your opinions changed on the movies as you grew up and as culture changed as well, on issues like consent and LGBT people. A month or so ago I subscribed to the 80s movie newsletter and just subscribed to this. 80s All Over is helping me pick my movies lately, as I revisit the time and think about the movies and changes since then. I'm sure the other newsletter will do the same too. It helps my heart to see people changing and growing while their love for the things they always loved deepening. Like you I loved movies since I was a kid. As someone about a decade younger, I was just finding all the classics of every decade and the indies in the late 90s. My understandings and love deepens for film in general but especially horror as I get older, but as a left-leaning, queer woman I often find myself feeling at odds with "film bros." Reading and listening to you has helped provide another voice that makes me feel like I have a place. Thank you.
