I believe that showing your kids Godfather/Godfather 2 is a mandatory thing (when they are old enough). Good job!

Then, after they've seen the romanticized version of the mob, Goodfellas is next. With My Blue Heaven in between, maybe. ;-)

Talking of long ass movies, I just watched the Lord of the Rings/Hobbit extended trilogies over 12 days with my 7yo. Had to watch each split over 2 nights. Years ago, my wife and I did the LotR extended trilogy at the Aero, and that was over 12hrs in one sitting.

I'm waiting for New Line / WB to have Peter Jackson recut The Hobbit Trilogy into the two 3-hour movies it should've been: The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and The Hobbit: There and Back Again. Cut out Evangeline Lily. Cut out most of the goblin stuff. Cut the ridiculous barrel chase down the river. End the first film at the natural point when the escape the Elven Kingdom in Mirkwood. Then in the second film cut most of the Laketown stuff. Cut Bard's spawn. Cut out the ridiculousness with the White Council and the Necromancer.

If New Line and WB were to do this, they would make so much money with a theatrical re-release and new discs and digital downloads. So of course, they'll never do it.

Until that happens though, I'm never watching The Hobbit again. Once was enough.

I’m gonna do a Godfather I/II rewatch this week. Thank you brothers McWeeny for cajoling Pop into watching it.

And fuck Quibi.

“But when I spent a few minutes scanning the landing page of Quibi, my first response was to log out, go to Plex, and start building a playlist of the longest goddamn movies I could find.”

You made me spit out my drink! Well done sir.
