Things are about to get a serious shake-up around here
Yep, I've been there.
I had a 12 TB group of several cheap but durable externally powered hard-drives and I used to use Plex to sift through them.
Then I had a rockstar tantrum over several weeks in 2023 where I trashed a whole bunch of gear.
I thought they were all done for, but found out later that half survived.
I'd been backing up a bunch of data on cheap, poorly made USB-powered drives, and now both have crashed.
It's $350NZD per drive to recover that data, which is mostly music.

As for AI: well, it's my intention to maintain the most ethical standards possible while using it.
Deep Dream Generator, which makes most of the images and video, automatically assigns me copyright over the resulting outputs.
It's cheap and power-efficient, and it's designed to avoid outright plagiarism.
When it comes to ChatGPT, I used the tool to write an entire treatise on how to make it reflective and ethically balanced rather than unchecked.
It's mostly something I use for political activism, and I'd never use it for creative writing.
Looking forward to seeing you join your fellow movie/tv critic friends on Ghost!! Keep up the awesome, Drew.
